Our Hydrofarm HID lighting package includes the extra versatile Xtrasun Convertible MH / HPS ballast from Hydrofarm. Designed in America, the Xtrasun ballast features materials normally found on higher priced units. These ballasts are extremely popular due to the extra value without added price. Their unique patented aluminum housing with convection cooling runs so cool that you will have years of worry free operation. The Xtrasun reflector provides a bright and broad spread of light due to its highly reflective specular aluminum. The low profile design makes this reflector versatile for many different growing spaces. The upgrade Daystar reflector includes 6” flanges for maximum air cooling along with gaskets which completely seal the reflector for maximum air cooling. This high efficiency design with a premium European specular aluminum interior means more light and coupled with the air cooling feature allows you to place the light closer to the plants which allows for better growth and improved ability to control growing area temperatures. This lighting package comes standard with one of our Ultra Sun bulbs or upgrade to the enhanced spectrum of an Eye Hortilux Bulb. The Eye Super HPS EN Grow lamps provide 17% more total energy and 25% more energy in the violet, blue, and green spectrum than standard High Pressure Sodium lamps. These lamps are environmentally friendly and pass EPA, TCLP test criteria as non-hazardous waste. This ballast includes an ISO-mount silencer which makes it ultra quiet. Rugged and durable, the Powerhouse ballast has a unique air-cooling option and runs on either 120v or 240v power supply.
